MEDICARE

Part A
Hospital Coverage

This will cover your inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facility, hospice and home health care. For most, your Part A is free if you have worked 40 working quarters (10 years) or longer. If you have not, you may still be able to get Part A however it will have a premium associated with it.

Part B
Physician Coverage

This will cover your inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facility, hospice and home health care. For most, your Part A is free if you have worked 40 working quarters (10 years) or longer. If you have not, you may still be able to get Part A however it will have a premium associated with it.

Part C
Medicare Advantage

MA plans are offered by private insurance companies. These companies take the place of your Part A and B Most MA (Part C) plans include prescription coverage (part D), and additional benefits like vision, dental, and hearing. MA plans are usually a lower cost to a zero cost to you, however there is more out of pocket costs associated if you go to the doctor or hospital. There are also a network of facilities you must stay in to have the best coverage or any coverage.

Part D
Pharmacy Coverage

When you enroll in Part A and Part B you are also required to have a Part D pharmacy card. These cards are chosen depending what medication you are currently taking. Even if you are not on any medication, we highly encourage you to purchase a card, if you do not you will be penalized 1%per month you did not have one. This penalty is for the rest of your life.

Medicare Supplement

A Medicare Supplement is purchased with your Part A and B. This will supplement (pick up) what Medicare does not cover. There are many options, however our most popular option is Plan G. This will pick up any expensed EXCEPT the Part B deductible of $257 in 2025. Medicare supplements do have a slightly higher premium than a Medicare Advantage plan, but have lower out of pocket costs, and a larger network for travel. You can NOT enroll in a Part C Medicare Advantage plan and a Supplement at the same time. You will choose one or the other.
